Ali Ethics March 26, 2010 A Time To butcher A Time To Kill confronts umteen ethical issues; both frank and bad. While watching, I surprised to see the severity of racism in our country. I was also quite surprise to discover what people would do for justice, like Carl Lee and Jake Brigance did. I bring forward that this picture shows accurately embodies the class of ethical issues that our country faces everyday. A Time To Kill tells the bal whizzy of the modern day community of Canton, Mississippi. Although it is silent by the townsfolk that racism is wrong, the town is still super segregated. The Hailey family is only one of the many families discriminated against within the community. When Tonya Hailey is brutally assail and nearly obscure by two racist men, her father, Carl Lee, immediately assays for revenge. He hides in the courthouse and when the two men be acquiren to trial he shoots and hides them. Both acts of violence were provoked by racism and they caused turbulency within the community. Though rape and rack up are extreme point cases of racism, less severe cases happen everyday. In chapter 13 of our textbook Emmett Barclow states that racism is rooted mystifying within our pasts and is hard to overcome.

He also says the we must take affirmative action towards unifying our nation and learning from our past. I think that this is very realistic, and coffin nail only hope that it will happen someday. As the movie progresses, Jake Brigance is faced with many with many challenges. He is attacked verbally by many of the townspeople who are member s of the KKK. There were many attempts to ki! ll him and his family throughout the collide with trial. During one attempt his house was fire down. Yet, Jake was determined to seek justice for Carl Lee. He knows that the odds are against him since the jury is rig and that Carl Lee Hailey will not oblige a reasonably trial due to racism.
