Drama Coursework Response PhaseThe play that we have been work-shopping is Legal subdivision by MarkWheeler. This play at inaugural appears to be concerned with road safetybut under further study we follow that it deals with guilt and denial,family loss and retribution. We have several central roles, Andy isthe speeding device driver and Jazz is his girlfriend whos seeing afootballer called phlegm whose brother was killed by a drug addictdriver. Kelly is the learner driver who is tragically killed by Andy,her father, Brian, who desperately wants retribution for the death ofKelly. There is a narrator character known only as A she is all-powerful and described all the characters feelings throughout theplay and gives us a abstract of what is about to happen. We have alsostudied a play called likewise overmuch Punch for Judy which deals with similarissues in a very much different way.From this play, my group and I saw the possibilities for lots ofexplorative strategies for mode lling cross cutting and brandingsignificant moments. We work shopped different sections of the play,the first section, Loves Young Dream was cross cut with section 2Apart. We immovable from the outset that we wouldnt use much set or habilitate to keep the attention of the audience on the action and toemphasize the areas that occupy to be central. We also work-shopped thesection with the actual accident in it, scratch 3 Fatality was wecross cut with some of section 4 Outcast.We used a lot of still image in our shop mostly to portray a senseof fear in the piece. In Section 4 + 5 we began with a still image of triple separate interprets of the drama piece as a way to mark the moment.CSL was Alex in the role of Andy driving his car, carefree and happydriving on the road, this is set seconds before he tops the ridgeand hits Kelly, before the freeze, Alex for a few seconds made drivingsounds and turned his imaginary steering stray before freezing.
